Aesthetics and available space were major factors in Marks choice of handling the fluid reservoirs. The power steering reservoir concept started with an aluminum oil filter cover. A rear cover was then designed to close it out and machined to fit. The rear cover and filler neck with cap were then welded to the can.
After finalizing its position on the motor using poster-board mockups, Mark machined the mounting bracket from aluminum plate. The bracket is sandwiched between the coil bracket and cylinder head.

The plumbing is completed using Aeroquip fittings and hoses. Make sure you use adequately rated hose for the high-pressure side.
The coolant overflow tank proved to be more of a design challenge. After several poster-board mockups, Mark finalized the design. The tank was fabricated from .050, 5052 aluminum sheet. A set of shrinker dies was used to form the curved top. After all the pieces were welded together the seams were ground and sanded smooth.

The finished product closes off the nose sheetmetal nicely, in addition to being the overflow tank.
