Exhaust Set-up
This section will be updated as the exhaust system is constructed
Taking a tip from the G.M. concept guys, Mark mocked up the exhaust system using ABS tubing and fittings. Foamboard and posterboard was used to make the muffler mockup.

After first mocking up a more traditional and symmetrical exhaust system, Mark decided a more unconventional approach was in order. Wanting to incorporate a X crossover for increased low RPM torque, horsepower and to isolate the heat away from the brake system, the transmission cooler was moved to the driver's side and all of the exhaust will be routed down the passenger's side of the chassis.

The design is based on a Flowmaster 50 Series muffler with twin 2 1/4" inlets and outlets.

Here is the actual muffler and heat shield from Flowmaster .
Motor and Transmission parts
To handle the shifter, dip sticks, throttle and brake cables needed, Mark chose the Lokar line of products
Shifter
The shifter plate and side arms were loosely bolted into place. Then, with the shifter bolted into the desired location, the threaded rod was trimmed to length. All the bolts were tightened and final adjustments were made.

Dipsticks
The flexible engine dipstick was installed into the block. For the transmission, Mark had Lokar make one of their transmission mount style dipsticks 4" longer and temporarily attached it to the back of the head. It will later be mounted to the bottom of the toeboard upon final assembly.

Throttle
The transmission kick down arm and throttle bracket were bolted into place. The kickdown outer cable was then trimmed to length and installed. Then the inner cable was installed, checked for travel and then trimmed to length. The throttle cable was then installed, but left uncut until the gas pedal and firewall are in place.
