Emergency Brake System
To fulfill the need for an emergency brake Mark elected to incorporate it with the fixed drive shaft. The design started with a billet aluminum caliper from Stainless Steel Brakes Caliper to the "Sweet Ryde" rear end cross-tube. The fish mouthed ends were drilled to make the wall thickness the same as the cross-tube. This makes for a better welded joint.
Mark designed and machined the rotor and clamp collar from aluminum. The collar firmly clamps around the drive shaft in addition to 2 screws that thread directly into the drive shaft. The entire rotating assembly will be re-balanced before final assembly.
